That is why thankfully I have all the diesel brake booster and manual slave cylinder parts that already have bolt holes on the firewall. The motor mounts on the frame are exactly the same in the 1/2 ton and 1 ton CTD, same place, shape and size the CTD is a direct fit

Q for Ramxls. Are you sure the motor mounts are the same from the gas to the diesel? I found some urethane inserts for motor mounts for a diesel and I would like to try them. As you have them in hand would you please compare them and post back. The frame end I don't care about it's the rubber part I am interested in.

I do not have the 1500 with me right this second so for 100% I cannot say yes but I did do a little research and the motor mounts for the 5.2P thru the V10 are the Same and looking at the picture of it to looks exactly like mine.

Thank You for the reply.

I get the same results I just don't like trusting pix of parts. I guess I will order a set and see if they fit.

The only thing I came across for the gas motors is they want you to buy the whole motor mount assembly (the metal part that mounts to the engine with the inserts already in it), which kinda suck s ecspecially if a part to fix the problem (the rubber) is cheaper.

It was the same way when I rebuilt the front end on my truck after 400,000 + miles the lower control arms where worn out and the last owner just had the ball joints welded in. When I went to find new lower control arms the only way they came was with a ball joint which I did not need as my front end rebuild kit came with new ones with a life time warranty I finally had to go on eBay and order some off a lower mileage truck

I saw those as of right now I have not taken the diesel out so I can not see if they are damaged beyond reuse

So after doing more research I have found out that pre 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 2wd trucks use the same front wheel spindle, I also found that the 3/4 ton brake rotor have the studs already mounted on the rotor that is then put on the spindle so my front running gear question answered still looking for exact driveshaft info but I might just take it to a driveline shop.

As I have been looking I have found out that a Cummins can be put Ina 1500 like a hand in a glove, the NV4500 can be mounted into the 1/2 ton and mount up exactly like the NV3500 with no issues, and the Dana 80 rear can be installed as a true bolt on with no modifications so I think I have finally convinced my self to go ahead and do the swap. I hope to have an extensive write up on it with a lotta pics

And so it begins well after I can get the 1500 home
