Question Debadged My 99 Sport

I debadged my 99 sport, and I've noticed slight "ghost" letters left on the tailgate where the Dodge, and 4x4 emblems were. What might you suggest to remove them? I used a hairdryer to heat and remove the vinyl emblems, and followed with a Goo-Gone adhesive remover to take off the residual goo. The truck looks SO much better without the dealer badge, and stock badges but I want to take it one step further to remove the ghost. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!
On another note, would it be worth plasti-dipping the rims? I want to black out the rims, but at this point don't want to drop $$ on new aftermarket rims. Maybe at a later date, but now this is the next best thing.

Well there is probably no way you will get the ghost stuff off lol. It's just paint that isn't as faded as the paint around it so it stands out. Also plasti dipping works well I did it to my bumpers and grille.

You can try some compound and a buffer and some elbow grease

use some fine cut compound on either a microfiber rag and get to work, or buff and wax it with a nice soft wheel mine all came off and it was pretty noticeable

Mine is still there. Tried everything to get rid of it. Nothing works, trust me.

Heat shrink gun and a cheese grater. Should come right off. You'll never know it was there.

Lord almighty....if you want the ghost letters gone repaint the F#CKIN TRUCK!!! or tape off the rest of the truck & let the sun fade the spots that look nice....repainting the truck is faster!.

What does one not understand about the sun fading paint? and the paint under the letters has not been faded! its been protected to like NEW finish, hence like new paint vs old paint that the sun has watered down. You're not going to buff that out.

If you don't want to repaint the truck then get new decals.
