A/c Pressure Readings
Hey I just installed a ac line, evacuated the system to draw out moisture and tested to make sure it held a vacuum. Everything was fine. Started filling freon and on second can, before i realized it the low was at 50 psi and high was about 275. It is about 99* right now outside. According to this chart, the high is a little over. How do i release some or is this ok? Air inside seems cold..not sure.

anyone? I let some freon out and got the pressure to 41 and 245 and after a couple minutes it went to 45 and 250. Hoping that is good now but i was thing that maybe the readings were so high because of the heat from motor? If it was 100 outside and 110 in engine bay than the original readings woulda been correct right?
How big of a can are you using? I don't remember how many ounces our trucks take offhand but i think it's somewhere around 32 or 35 oz. The cans of r134a are usually 12 oz. Your pressures seem really high for just adding 1 can. What's the temp drops at the vents?
over a 15 min drive, the lowest it got was 63 and that was in park just idling, when driving it would stay between 67 and 72 and would fluctuate the whole time. the temp outside was between 98 and 110 today. Any ideas?
just checked the gauges again, started at 40 low side and 240 high side, after a couple min it went to 42 low side and 252 high side and inside air was 67* all at idle. Is this ok? seems like it should be getting colder to me and also seems like the air isnt coming out of the vents as hard as it used to but not sure on that, please any suggestions..

System takes about 32 oz for a full charge from empty. Temperature of cold air is dependent on outside air - it is the Delta T (difference) of ambient to refrigerated. Hotter outside, the less cool it will be inside.
Are the lines under the hood trying to freeze up?
Are the lines under the hood trying to freeze up?
suction line is cold, high side line is hot, i was just messing with it and realize now that when i rev it up, the low side drops and compressor kicks off than low side goes up and high side goes down. So why would the low side drop as i give it gas? Does that mean its low? I dont want to overcharge it because when its ideling its reading correct
