Default 2000 Ram door lock problem

I have read on here that most auto door locks lock after going 15 mph, mine are locking after the doors are closed and the truck is started. lol I dont have the keyless entry, or a remote or anything and only one key. Ive only had it a week and working out some bugs in it, I dont even have to put it in gear and they lock after starting and my doors are closed, what can I do about this?

Ok, on digging a little deeper....... Seems you have the High-Line central timer module, which is Remote Keyless Entry Enabled. (you can get remotes for your door locks. ) Just in case you weren't aware.

Supposedly, your doors should only lock once you hit 24 miles per hour..... not sure why yours are more immediate.... To completely disable the auto-lock feature:

To disable the automatic rolling door lock:

Close all doors (make sure you are inside).

Cycle the key from the off position to the on position (without starting the vehicle) 4 times, ending in the on position.

Then press the drivers side door lock switch to lock the doors (within 30 seconds).

You can probably find them on EBay, or similar sites, but, to get the first one programmed, I think the dealer is your only option.... once you have one programmed, you can do any more you want yourself.

Grab the 01 service manual from the faq section here. It can be a LOT of help.

Welcome to DF!
