5.2 cng engine
Hello! I signed to this forum because I was looking info on 5.2/5.9 engines. My wife has 5.2 on her '96 Jeep GC, and I have Cummins on my '95 CC/LB Ram, but that might to be changed.
I read from the wiki that '95 model year was available with cng engine, but I haven't found any info of it. Mostly I'm curious to know that how the cng was injected to the engine, was it mixer type of system or multipoint like the normal fuel system is? And was it bi-fuel or dedicated cng engine?

Reason I'm asking about the factory setup, is because I'm going to use cng system which has a gas nozzle for each cylinder, and it looks a little tricky to drill holes for nozzles to intake. I was hoping that there would be a factory intake that has provision for nozzles.
As I suspected, it's a dedicated CNG engine: http://www.nrel.gov/docs/fy00osti/27848.pdf
So no help from there. But I send a picture of a Magnum intake to company that makes CNG conversions, and they told that there's no problem to drill holes for a gas nozzles next to gasoline injectors.

Ok, since I won't need factory CNG engine parts, I might as well keep this thread on more of a engine swap thread.
First question; as I've done some research, finding a 5.2 from a Dodge is a little difficult because there isn't many, even complete, of them for sale, most are diesels. But we have lot of Jeeps with 5.2. Can I make one work on a Dodge (which was originally equipped with Cummins), specifically the ECM? Trans is 47RH.
Secondly; I've searched some and found that sweet spot on rpm's is about 1700-2000 when cruising down the road, is this correct?

100% correct! When I bought that truck 7 years ago, diesel cost about 80 cents/litre, now highest has been 1,65€, price has doubled in that period of time! Gasoline isn't any cheaper, diesel is only 14 cents cheaper than 95E10.
My goal with 5.2 (or what ever I get, theres one '05 5,7 Hemi for ridiculously cheap price) is to convert it to burn CBG, and if I run out of it I could use E85.
