Exclamation Least Expensive V10 Cold Air In-take

Well Hello All
Am New Here But It seems to be Okay thus Far.
As long as i can get a cpl Questions Answered About My Truck, I will be Tickled!!
I Own A 2000 Dodge Ram,2500 4x4 V10, Which I truly Like Alot.
Own A Repo Co. And The Dodge Is my Personal Repo Truck Which has a sneaker Wheel Lift up under the bed of it.Added That part as so that we are All on the same page & understanding That I spend ALOT of time In The Truck & On The road=miles !!
What I am here for at the moment is to tryN Find out if there is a way to install a Cold Air Intake on this truck For Anything Less Than The $375.00 K&N Wan ts For it ?? A Buddy of mine has the V10 Ford, same yr.and he was able to find/order his system from (drawing a blank on the Name) Which was NOT by K&N,Same set-up & for like, way les then half the money! Problem being,we can Not find one from ANYbody other than K&N for the V10 Dodge Truck!
I know his (cold air) system improved his fuel milage by atleast 2 mi/gal
As of this moment My truck wont do Better than 7mi/gal......
YES, You read it correctly, 7 MI. And with the price of Gas, IT IS KILLING ME!!
And it Does Not Matter, Loaded/unloaded its All the same!!
So, If Any of you Got ANY other little tricks To pass along,I would be completely

Hope for everyone to have a Safe Weekend & God Bless!

Not much to be done.... I think the average I have seen out of the V-10 trucks (basing this information on what I have read on here....) 8 MPG is about average around town, or hauling/towing.... it's just thirsty.

As for the CAI..... Not sure if the V-10's are different from the other gas engines.... but, not much to be gained there. All the CAI's draw air from the exact same place as the stock system..... CAI may flow a bit better, but, that's gonna be the only benefit... not worth the money involved in my opinion.

Best bet is to make sure all the tune up parts are fresh, and do an oil change...... Don't forget air filter (free flowing here wouldn't hurt), and PCV valve. (from dealer only please, they actually have the correct flow rate.)
