Default u-joint

I put u-joints in and the caps spin inside the ear.
Would it be safe to tack weld them or use some lock tite?
If I tack them where would I tack them?

Yep there the right size. I compared the new and old one with dial calipers to make sure.
after I pressed the new one in I swiveled it by hand and the cap turned with it.

I think that ears got mangled when you pressed the old ones out, happened to me once when the caps were really stuck and rusted.

I'd use Loctite 638, really good stuff, only thing you need to work quickly because it sticks fast. And when you remove the caps next time, you'll need to heat them long enough to burn the glue off.
