Default Rear Gear Oil Change

2000 2500 4x4 diesel, dana 70 rear, Open carrier
Quick question. Changed my rear gear oil today. It was leaking a bit, and i'm pretty sure it was original.
I removed about 3 1/2 quarts of oil, and I put in about 3 1/4 quarts of new oil. The oil level is about 3/8" below the fill plug. I remembered reading that somewhere on here but that was in reference to the front axle. Is that the same for the rear? Would I be better off just adding another 1/4 quart of oil and calling it done?
Guess I'm just being a bit antsy. Always knew it as fluid level should be at the bottom of the fil plug, plus I put in just a hair less than I took out.

Guess I'll just drive it then and find the fluid spec on all data at work tomorrow.
Thanks.

A Dana 70 is a full floating diff having the right amount of oil in there is very important.

As per the fsm
Refill the differential with the specified quantity of Mopar Hypoid gear Lubricant. With Trac-Lok differentials, add a container of friction modifier.

(9) Install the fill hole plug.
(10) Road test the vehicle.

Dana 70 (4WD) .3.6 L (7.8 pts.)

I just got back from driving it around town and highway, and it's fine. Drives better actually. Feels like there's less holding it down. Rolls freer so to speak. I added another 1/4 quart for a total of 3.5 quarts, or 7 pts. I'll check it again in a couple days and add that little bit more if needed.
