Hey everyone. When I tear into my engine to do the plenum, water pump, timing chain, oil pan gasket and possibly rear main, would it be a good idea to put in a new oil pump? How about a higher flowing oil pump versus OEM? I searched on here a little bit with not much clarification. Pump works fine now but it's one of those things that if I'm working on it that much, what's a little extra work you know. thanks guys

You don't need a HP oil pump unless your trying to build pressure on a worn out motor..I run stock pressure in my Drag truck, and some of the Melling HP pumps have been causing problems of late.

Pull the puimp, take it apart and have a look...Check the clearances, I thinnk the info is in the FSM.
