Default Tire question

Hey guys,
I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Regular Cab, extended bed 4x4 with the 5.2L v8. Currently I have the regular stock rims on the truck, however the tires are garbage. I can get my hands on some Cooper Discovery S/T LT245/75/R16's that are nearly brand new. My question is, can I use them on my stock 16" rims? Also, I noticed that the tread is very aggressive on these tires and I was wondering how that would affect the overall driving of the truck?
Any information would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks

Tire will fit on your rims with no issues.

Might have a little road noise, shouldn't really effect ride too much. I have some meaty Goodyear's on mine and besides the road noise I haven't got a complaint in the world about ride quality...

The S/T is an excellent product. Not as loud as it looks. Here are some reviews:

truck should drive good and hold the road better with an aggressive tire.

I run BFGoodrich mud terrain KM2's on my truck which is very aggressive and its drives fine, holds the road tight and the tires are not loud. they do make a little noise, but I can't hear it over the noisy diesel engine anyway
