i can not remember what fuel injectors i put in because i did not write that down for some reason, but the fuel rail i have had cleaned out and had a cleaner put thru on the fuel system. but i have not had a fuel pressure test put on that i can remember. i thought they would have done that when they put the new fuel pump and fuel filter in.
Did he replace the cat? If not, you should look into doing so.
he did not replace the cat because he said the cat was fine. and i have not done a fuel pressure check at the rail. i will have to take it in to do that.
any other ideas i might be able to try

Injectors.. there are only two other than oe I know of that drop in without need of a tune... Your issues sound precisely like mine before I tuned for them. The other issue is pressure at the rail.. that has a direct effect on Injectors delivery.
zman17 when he blew out the cat he blew it out with an air hose starting with the intake side and then went from the other side. said air was going thru it just fine. and i am in the heating and air conditioning business so i am confused when you say plenum because that means something different to me. what is the plenum? i am hoping the heads are not cracked. i am looking at selling the truck and upgrading to a newer dodge ram but want to get this problem take of.
Drewactual what injectors made your problem go away and what pressure should i have at the rail?

there is a huge thread at the top of the board concerning the lower intake gasket, which seals up the plenum.. you can read for days about the issues it causes..
the injectors i purchased were an upgrade.. i tuned the pcm accordingly, but in those few day where i didn't, there were coughing issues similar to yours.. it took a while to get the injectors under control and in optimum running order.. there is very little to be gained by upgrading injectors in the first place, which is why i tell folks to NOT follow my example, and stick with stock..
