The fuel pump, filter, and pressure regulator are all contained in one unit. There is no separate fuel filter for these trucks.

Did he replace the cat? If not, you should look into doing so.

Injectors.. there are only two other than oe I know of that drop in without need of a tune... Your issues sound precisely like mine before I tuned for them. The other issue is pressure at the rail.. that has a direct effect on Injectors delivery.

What exactly does having the "cat blown out mean"? As in gutted? The plenum is whats blown to begin with. And as said, maybe cracked heads now.

zman17 when he blew out the cat he blew it out with an air hose starting with the intake side and then went from the other side. said air was going thru it just fine. and i am in the heating and air conditioning business so i am confused when you say plenum because that means something different to me. what is the plenum? i am hoping the heads are not cracked. i am looking at selling the truck and upgrading to a newer dodge ram but want to get this problem take of.
Drewactual what injectors made your problem go away and what pressure should i have at the rail?

there is a huge thread at the top of the board concerning the lower intake gasket, which seals up the plenum.. you can read for days about the issues it causes..

the injectors i purchased were an upgrade.. i tuned the pcm accordingly, but in those few day where i didn't, there were coughing issues similar to yours.. it took a while to get the injectors under control and in optimum running order.. there is very little to be gained by upgrading injectors in the first place, which is why i tell folks to NOT follow my example, and stick with stock..

There's a sticky at the top of this forum that says it all: End-all Be-all plenum thread
