I would say maybe but I replaced the plugs with champion coppers and the wires ohmed out good. The wires have maybe 4000 miles on them. The old plugs looked a little fouled probably from when the plenum was leaking. I just cranked it up in the dark to check for arching found none. It idles smooth and purrs. No sound of a misfire.

I had to ask was worth a shot, well if you feel like playing you could line up all the timming marks, HB to block to dizy and see if they all line up right. Maybe the outer ring on the HB has moved one way or the other.

Going to check on that. Something I am not familiar with doing though. Any advice to get me started?

Yes sir

Rotate the Hb to where the line on the Hb matchs the 0 mark on the timing cover, then remove the dizy cap, rotor should be pointing at number 1 cyld on the cap, there is also a mark on the cam sensor plate. If the rotor is not at number 1 but is pointing right across from 1 then rotate the motor 180 degres, then check all the marks again.

Great thanks a lot! I am assuming I need a big wrench for this.

I just went and started it up again. I guess yesterday i was too pissed off to pay attention to it but the motor mounts did help quite a bit. The vibes feel a lot less prominent. And now that the mounts are new, It seems to feel like an out of balance something or other for sure. Like something spinning out of round, wobbly. I have the belt off too to rule out any other pulleys.

1 and a 1/4, half inch drive socket would be a great help to you, also removing the sparkplugs makes things ezr as well. I am trying to find this in the fsm but I am not having any luck today.

Guess what. I think this mystery has been solved. I went and pried on it some more and a puff of dust came out from the rubber ring and the ring started to crumble. I can clearly see the outer part of the balancer move in and out from the center piece.

This thing is FUBAR. The ring is all dried up and brittle. Falling out all over the place. Just to think. It looked fine until I started prying on it.

Got the balancer in the mail today. Putting it in tomorrow.
