Default tensioner pulley

Quick couple of questions...my belt tensioner pulley seems to be loose do I need to replace just the pulley or the whole deal with the bracket?Its bouncing around&rattling.Also What problems if Any can this cause besides throwing a belt?I'm gonna address it but just wondering.Thanks

Replace the whole thing. If it's original.... it's time anyway. If the tensioner isn't doing its job..... you get things like belt slip, squealing, or tossing the belt.

+1... ANd replace it with a Dayco unit.

+2 on dayco unit.

tip - don't remove the coil from the bracket by the little bolts. remove the whole bracket from the block.

I replaced mine had to go with a Gator back to get rid of the squeaking..
