I just had a catalytic converter installed on my 99 Ram 1500, 5.2L. The previous owner had it removed....

When I picked up the truck I had no 1st gear. It starts out in 2nd, shifts fine to 3rd and OD. I crawled under and saw that the rear O2 sensor had to be relocated to fit into the new cat. I assume the tech at the muffler shop pulled on the wire harness, which affected the harness going to the transmission. I've read quite a bit about a governor pressure sensor and solenoid that go bad.

Is it possible that my problem is external, a wire or harness that got pulled, broke a wire, unplugged a wire, something like that? If so, can anyone tell me where the connectors are and what pin in the connector goes to the sensor and or solenoid?

I also read about downloading factory service manuals, anyone know where I can find those?

I downloaded the whole factory service manuals at tradebit.com for $9.95 got tired of deadlinks... very happy w/it...hugh download, like 70MB.

My Ram used to start in 2nd gear when 'D' was selected. I could manually shift and start from 1st gear but when using 'D' it would never drop below 2nd.

I installed the above parts, and everything's been perfect since.
