Default New transmission pan - TCI 128005

so my old pan was bent on the bottom, gasket leaking again. time for an upgrade.

I looked at the TCI, MagHytec, Hughes, PML, Derale, Summitt, and some others. I ended up buying the TCI direct from their website a couple of months ago when it was a tad cheaper than it is now. amazon is currently cheaper.

Amazon Amazon

stock 46re is 3 inches deep. TCI is 4 inches deep. I'd guess it holds 2-3 extra quarts.

Shop hard for best price on ATF+4. Its expensive. Walmart brand is cheapest. I saw that autozone had Havoline brand for a pretty good price. I got mine at amazon.

The TCI came with a filter drop spacer, but i couldn't figure out how to use it. it didn't have longer bolts, and i didn't have any, so i didn't use it. i need to call them and ask what i'm not understanding. it did come with filter, gasket, and bolts, so that saves you about $15 for a filter kit. do spray it out with brake cleaner before installing. mine had a lot of dust in it. you do need a 5 or 6mm? hex driver.

mine fit perfect. and no leaks.

pics for you.

i've got a remote filter and a cooler, so it takes a lot to fill it up.

That's a slick looking unit, and I especially like how they've got the drain plug somewhat protected to make it harder for road debris to rip it out.

The filter extension I got came with longer screws... don't see any other way it could work. Maybe you got short-changed?

The longer bolts for the filter adapter should have been in the package. Without it the filter is sitting at the top of the oil and not deeper where it needs to be.

maybe. the extension was overly large and triangular shaped like maybe it was for a different transmission model... and there was another filter included that fit that shape.

whatever the case, it'll have to wait until next year. with the way my truck wanders back and forth going down the road, maybe it'll keep it stirred up. lol.

here's the filter extension.

Let me rephrase my earlier statement: That hole pattern is common to all filter extensions for these things that I've seen. You use the 727 filter with it instead of the 46R filter.

Yikes! Let me know if you decide to come out this way so I can stay off of the highway!

Just run regular ATF unless you're sticking to the 100k mile flush schedule.
