Default Fun with steering walking side to side!

Just picked up a 94 1500 with a lift kit, steering wheel walks back and forth while driving and is pretty loose, from what im reading this is common, how expensive is it to fix? Any brand I should stick with for parts?

The cost will depend upon what has to be done to correct it. Troubleshoot first, buy parts later.

+1, but how loose is the steering wheel when just parked with the engine not running? And is this truck a 4x4 or not? Please add the info to your sig and profile so we don't have to guess every time you ask a question.

It just feels like a vehicle without power steering basically. When it is running it has a few inches of "dead zone" where the steering wheel moves free, but doesnt turn the truck. After it goes through that small dead zone the truck responds quickly.

Check for slop at the steering box..... they are notorious for it.
