Default Wheel clicking

My right front wheel has developed a clicking noise. I can only really hear it when i driving past a stone wall or a house close to the road, something like that, it will echo off of it. It is not a rock in the tire, could this be the bearing starting to go??? I've had a bearing go in a previous vehicle, but that was more like a squeal or squeking noise.

Thanks

I highly doubt it is a exhaust leak, the clicking sounds like bolts bouncing around, that kind of sound.

Its probably your U-joint cause mine does the same thing and thats what I was told it was by my neighbor who had the same problem and fixed his by replacing the U-joint.

When wheel bearings go in these they tend to go real quick, and they sound nasty, like no other wheel bearing I've heard. I drove home from work and mine was totaly fine, then I was driving out of my neighborhood and before I even made it to the main road I heard that horible creaking/grinding noise started and it felt like my break was stuck, thats how hard it was to spin. It was so bad I had to call AAA and have they tow it (for free of course) to my house that was 1/4 mile away!

Like Socha said if it was the wheel bearings you would know it cause it sounds horrible. I've replace two sets of bearing in the last six months so I would know.

A week or so ago I noticed while driving through the drive-thru at Wendy's that my truck was making a creaking noise, I thought it was the body flexing but a couple days later I had my window down and heard it going down the road. It sounds like a squeaky door and is annoying as hell and very loud as well. I am right in the middle of moving to a new house this weekend so I hope it holds up until I can check the wheel bearings, but man it is embarrassing. What do wheel bearings run on these things, and should I change both the fronts or just the one making all the racket?

You have to replace the whole hub unfortunitially. So for one they're probably about $150-$200. Mine was $215 and I was only charged $50 for labor. How many miles are on you truck?

Check other possibilites too, it seems when wheel bearings go in these they make a real nasty sound, not just a squeeking. But ya never know, they're all diffrent

Ya, Holy Crap! I just checked and it is $225 here, hopefully it is something besides the wheel bearings.
