Default Two Mysterious Noises..

I have some noises that have been goin on for awhile, may be related, maybe not.

1st noise- Driving through a parking lot,if i accelerate and bluntly let off gas pedal before it shifts into 2nd or 3rd, it shifts anyway and since rpms arent high enough it clunks. If i stay on the gas, shifts smooth. If i slowly deaccelerate it slowsdown without clunking.

2nd noise- Driving like 45+ mph on freeway or whatever, when i give it gas, it sounds like bad bearings or something. If i let of throttle sound goes away.Give it as,comes back. Only notice it at higher speeds....

Would bad u joints cause both? Transfer case? Has all new wagner brakes, plenum, timing chain..etc. Both were doing it before all work was done.

Thanks for suggestions.

I think the best bet in terms of getting help would be for you to video tape your problems so that we have a better idea of what's going on.

I can try, but not sure if you'll be able to hear it.

The Thunk or Thud sound you hear as described is your your U joints on the drive shaft; when the pressure is high and shifts hard; (mine does this) shifts the pressure is decreased and shifts and engages hard.. you hear a thud sound. Also when you go from park/R or D/R changing direction of the draft shaft you hear the Thud- New U joints is needed. Mostly the one on the *** end most common. But sometimes it just happens because if the release of pressure then engagement..

On the 2nd issue; need better description of the sound; as they said a video would be best..

Makes sense,i just checked and yes it thunks in reverse and drive(waaaay worse in 4x4). Found a lil up and down play on ujoint from rear dl to tranny. Also found very small play at t case driveline but it seemed more in the tc rather than u joint. Maybe need the tc saver? And seems that first noise is definitly u joints right.

2nd noise,ill work on a vid..
