Default Radiator size?

I take it the radiator for the diesel is larger than the 5.2/5.9 gas engines.
What are the dimensional differences?
Would a thermo fan kit for a diesel fit a gas radiator (with or without mods)?

i've got a threads on this with a lot of spec's.
caution, the diesel doesn't have an auto trans cooler. the V10 does.
it will fit easily in the wide set of mounts.
the trouble to work out is the hose size adapters and the shroud size and mounts.

i bought a diesel shroud the other day from a part out and found out that both the diesel and V10 shroud are very short, due to the longer engine. the V8 shroud is quite long, and naturally the mounts are in a different place.

Thanks for the thread link, Doug... much appreciated.

It would seem that the diesel radiator is 4" wider (thickness is irrelevant to this excessive).
So a thermo fan kit designed for a diesel radiator should fit a V8 radiator... one would just have to make sure to cover the 2" per side overhang, though I'm guessing the tanks should do this to a certain extent.

Any other thoughts on this?

anything for the diesel will fit,

it don't think it matters to cover the extra 2" per side overhang...
just strap the electric fans to the inside of the radiator and let them do their thing. the shroud becomes unnecessary with the electrics.

-- but if you eliminate the shroud you'll need an alternative way to hang the 2 plastic tanks. overflow and washer fluid.

and don't forget the inlet/outlet adapters.

i originally intended to graft the deeper V8 shroud on top of the wider diesel shroud base. unfortunately the weird flimsy molding of the diesel shroud is making that awkward.

if may have to get a junkyard diesel radiator and extra v8 shroud in order to fabricate this whole mess up ahead of time.
