I have a 2000 Dodge Ram Van 2500 and I am having transmission issues. When I first start off when its cold, the transmission drives perfectly. After a few minutes of driving I notice that when I stop at a light or stop sign and proceed to acceletare the transmission just keeps reving high until I take my foot off the gas pedal and then it shifts into 2nd gear. This will continue to happen for awhile then after about 10-15 minutes 1st gear starts to shift fine and 2nd gear now starts to the the same thing but even worse to the point where it revs very high to the point where it doens't seem to want to shift at all. When it finally does shift (and at some points it hasn't shifted and I am stuck in 2nd gear for awhile) into 3rd it then shifts fine into overdrive. Then it drive perfectly until I have to stop again. Not sure if the transmission is on its way out or if it needs a fluid change or if the governor solenoid needs to be replace.
