Default quick front spring question...little confused

I have a 1998 dodge ram 2wd and im looking to lift the front. I have read over and over and this is what I came up with

96-01 4x4 coil will interchange
However, 4x4 coils will not interchange in 2wd????

Others say you need to look at the width of the coils as sometimes other coils will be too thick. Are the 4x4 coils thicker?? Is that what they are talking about??

Anyways, should I be looking for 2500 2wd coils????

I'd stick with 2wd coils or get a spacer like suggested. I'm pretty sure 4x4 coils will not work, from what I've read on here.
