Post Hurricane gas price check..

Here is another thing. Due to the refineries closing the gas prices jumped over night. What I don't understand is why. I know the whole supply and demand thing. But does raising the price cause the other refineries to produce more at a faster pace? Let's say that a budwiser plant burned down. Does that mean that budwiser would have to raise the price of beer in order to keep selling it? I am sure there is a logical explanation for all of this if someone would care to explain. Untill then, I guess we all will just have to grin and bear it. [:@]

Like Steve said, I've heard that the price goes up to pay for the next tanker-load. that $6 per gall crap in Atlanta was pure gouging, no question. The lib enviro-whackos who wont let us drill off the coast of anywhere, wont let us drill in Alaska, and oppose construction of new refineries are to blame for the bulk of this mess. Our current refineries are operating at 96% (pre Katrina) on any given day. We could have All of the oil sitting on tankers, and it wouldnt matter, because we couldnt process it anyway.
Prices as of 09/05 in Woodstock, Ontario are $1.38. my truck is on empty right now and i start commuting again tomorrow. about to go fill up. im sure the cost to fill this will be almost $150!
