I've got an 04 ram 1500 2wd with a bad eng(4.7), I've got the chance to buy a later model 4.7 or 04 complete wrecked 04 hemi 5.7, what's the pros and cons?

 

This is the primitive (2nd gen, '94-02) section. We don't know anything about 4.7's except that they are too complicated. Try the 3rd gen section



On a very general level, if you are buying the whole donor truck, you should have everything needed to complete the swap. So if the time and $$ investment is worth it to you, go for it! The 4.7 should be a pretty simple drop in, maybe swap the intake and some sensors etc. The 5.7 would be more involved, but since it's coming from the same year truck, it should just be a matter of swapping (a lot of) parts.
