Default 96 d60 brake/wheel bearing upgrade

hey guys,as you all know, i bought a set of axles d60/d70 from a 96 2500 cummins a few weeks ago, and i was wondering if it was possible to put a 00-01 hub bearing, and brake setup on the 96 d60?

i dont like the idea of going from a dual piston caliper on my 1/2 ton d44 to a single piston caliper on the d60 that im going to be swapping in.

any insight is appreciated. thanks!

I think they changed ball joint sizes in the 00-01 d60, so everything from the C's out would have to be changed. I have a 01 sitting in the garage that I can measure if need be.

that would be cool. i just dont understand why a 00-01 d60 caliper cant bolt to a 96 d60 knuckle.

bc they like to change some key things over that set of years.

have you thought about ditching the unit bearing and swapping over ford knuckles? Would be much better maintenance-wise and durability with respect to that unit bearing.

i havent thought about it. i can get new hub asseblies for about 80 a piece, so at that cost i dont mind replacing them every couple years. i dont offroad, i tow, and plow, thats it. plus i dont have the coin to drop for that stuff right now.

I'm not 100% sure on the ball joint change, but if they did, they probably changed knuckles too and that's why.
