Default Starts but won't stay running...

My '98 Dodge 2500 w/5.9 V8 GAS!, will start but stall instantly. I can keep it running by giving it gas but once I let off the pedal it stalls. Smells really rich. It's not flashing any codes.

Any ideas????

Start by cleaning the IAC, disconnect negative battery cable before doing so. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/dodge-r...n-the-iac.html

Also havr your battery and alt tested. Minr did the same thing and it turned out to be a bad cell and weak alt. The pcm will do crazy things when its not getting enough voltage

Well I cleaned the IAC. It was filthy. But it still does the same thing. I did forget to take off the negative cable! Things happen when your 4 year old son is helping. Will that make a difference?

When I keep my foot on it, it runs but smells like it's loading up. It's been smelling rich for the last couple of weeks. O2 sensor???

UPDATE!!!

I pulled the battery cable off and it must have reset something 'cause it runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
