Hey guys I got something crazy going on here my truck out of no wear started to overheat today the fan is running but the ac was on didn't think about it when I tested it and I made sure the water was full it only does it when I am stopped for a few minutes then when I start picking up speed it starts to come down any ideas thanks

Check the fan clutch for starters. After the motor is fully up to operating temp. Turn it off, and spin the fan. If it turns freely with not much resistance, it's most likely bad.

Can we just trouble shoot one thing at a time? LOL There are some other things that could cause it, but I think that would be the most common.

Ok I tested it and I can move the fan with just one finger on it either way

So you tested it hot or cold?

Well I had been driving for a little and when I check I made sure it was were it normally is before shutting down the engine

Compare how it feels/spins when cold.

It has more resistance when cold compared to when it's hot
