Tire Wear...
Hope that makes sense.
Lemme guess pass side is worse than drivers side.

Not flawed, justs adds cost to your repairs. Yes the shop will find whats wrong when installing the lift, but a lift is not needed to find the problem and chances are the lift will not fix it. But yes killing two birds with one stone works as well.
Hope that makes sense.

Oh for crying out loud put in the lift kit and get it over with, there that help
. Feel free to blame it on me.
Edit: Best advice on a lift do it once and do it right the first time, so 7" lift is what you're doing? HeHe

And yeah, the passenger side IS worse, actually. I'll be contacting National4WD tomorrow. Give them the whole story and see where it goes from there for a cost estimate. Now to decide on the brand/options for the lift.

Hahaha - She just read your post! Then made an interesting comment about 7" followed by the fact she wouldn't be so much as pissed as she would be annoyed for having to lug a step ladder around!

My wife is 5' nothing and she has gotten good at getting in and out of our truck, takes some practice but its not that bad (her words), of course steps do help.
I figured as much on the pass side.
Brands and opt only stop where your wallet ends. Shop wize One bit of advice I can offer is get shocks separate from the kit and look at Bilstein shocks. Yes there more but they are one nice riding shock.

Will do. I'll give National4WD a call tomorrow like I said. I'm thinking around 5" for a suspension lift. Gonna have to factor in the repair costs as well... we'll see where this ends up. I suspect it's going to be expensive. I looked online quickly at the N4WD website and saw that their Superlift 5" lift (with shocks - looked before looking here) was about $2,500 (or somewhere around there, can't pullup the page anymore).
Wonder if this would be worth attempting to install myself at the autoclub on base in an attempt to save some money... hrm... Not sure I would have the time nor experience to pull it off.

Alright, so checked jacked up the truck and checked out the tires...
Driver side is the hub bearing for sure. So, I'll replace both. I'm also going to pick up ball joints and u-joints. I came across a Front End Rebuild in the DIY section that I'll likely follow.
Since I'm in there, anything else major I should be looking to replace/upgrade? I noticed a lot of the bushings seem very old and cracked. Additionally... Not sure WHICH of the bars it is - but should they all be bowed? They do not look straight to me, but I do not see any real impact points on them. I'm just curious as I do not have another dodge to look at.
Oh, and suggestions on brands? I've heard Moog is good, gasped a little at the price, but also read a few forums that suggested they were not.
Thanks.

Edit: Wow. Just realized how much cheaper RockAuto is compared to summitracing. This means I'll be able to do more with my budget. I'll be honest, in the process of learning about the front suspension as I've never played with it before. Feel free to help out with the education/suggesting of parts I should look to replace while I am down there! Not looking for end-all be-all massive $1000 upgrades, but rather looking at what is there, what is likely in need of attention (I've never played with the front suspension, so that should give an idea of the type of wear and tear likely on it...), and what I can look to replace while I have the tires off and willing to dig in and fix it up!

I know you said not any $1000 upgrades but if you factor in the cost of new replacement unit bearings (that you have to spend) and the savings on gas, I would look at this kit. Just get rid of those junk unit bearing all together.

Yea moog has both reps going on, but what part does not have good rep and a bad rep. One other brand people like is XRF.
If you are not going with that lift make sure you check the bushing in the control arms you need a big pry bar to test those. Some of the steering parts do have bends in them.
Edit: Just a suggestion here but economy steering parts will not last very long, just a waste of time installing them. They might last longer in a more stock truck but you have plans.
