Default 10 Spark plug wires? on a V8?

I ordered a new set of spark plug wires from Rockauto, and the box came with 10 spark plug wires... I only see 9 in my engine bay. 8 for the the cylinders, and one for the coil.

I assume the coil wire is the wire with the long black boot? I think the 10th wire with two black boots is for something else??

Does anyone know where this 10th wire is?

BOSCH Part # 09789

The wire with two short black boots is the ign coil wire.

Looks like a nice set of wires, tho. They even have the wire loom on them. I dunno, maybe one for dropsies.

I think the one with the long back boot is for the coil? because the TSB says "The coil wire must be a minimum of 1" away from any other ignition wires."

When you change out the wires one at a time you will see what I posted is right. Would you like me to go pull my coil wire and take a pix so you can see it?

Its probably a more universal kit where the two black ended wires are for the coil, use whichever one fits and discard the other one. Pull off your coil wire and match it up to one of the coil wires in the set.

Yeah, my original coil wire is the one with the two black boots. Like yours probably is. I wasn't sure if the long back boot was a replacement per the TSB.

So the consensus is that one with the long back boot is extra?

I thought it went to ignite the propane flame thrower out the exhaust.

I've bought sets before with an extra wire, I don't question and keep it as a spare.
