I have a 96 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 5.9. The problem I am having is the fog lights will work if I hold the button in bt if I let it go it will nt stay in therefore the fog lights only work if I keep my finger on the button. Any suggestions?

Replace that switch / button. That's quite obviously your issue.
