Default are ECM's interchangable

I purchased a complete setup (engine, trans, wire harness, ecm) from a 1999 Ram van 3500. The computer was crushed during shipping. i am putting it in a 1970 chalolenger. Do i need the original computer ($700 to replace, year specific) or can i replace it with a different one? I am not that knowledgeable about them but if it is not the same vehicle then what would it matter or would it? HELP!!!!! Thanks..

aah ha, I was maybe it's an import from down under..ha, to that's funny! Depends if they're bad or not and guess you won't know till till they're hook up or if tested. Most should be good but you never know...
