rear end options?
well my rears made noises since the day i got the truck but its gotten worse recently, so taking care of the rear will be my next major task with the truck sometime soon. looking into my options ahead of time and weighing them all. need opinions/ input. Dont want to get a junkyard rear because of the difficulty of finding the right one with 4.10s and id still be having the axle seals etc redone. Toying between the idea of having mine rebuilt or possibly doing it my self or just finding one already done online. Has any one here rebuilt there rear themself and know about how much parts would run?
Depends on what parts you need for the rebuild. Do you only need seals and bearings? A new ring and pinion? A new carrier? You're gonna have to figure out the cause of the "noise" before you can figure a cost to fix it.
call around,, price out rebuild kits,,seals bearings know what all the parts cost form just a bearing to ring and pinion,,, so when u call you know
if it was me i would price it out vs doing it my self and go form there,,,, ive done chevy 10 14 bolts not bad at all,, havent done a dodge and hope i dont have to
