Default Stick Shift trans help

Hey guys, I'm got a question and maybe even a line of questions about a transmission that I want to put in my truck. I talked to a guy and he has a stick shift transmission that was in his diesel dodge that he might sell. I dont even know if they made a stick shift for a gas burner but I hope to get one. Will the diesel transmission work in my gasburner? Also what all is involved in putting a stick into the truck besides the clutch kit clutch pedal? Also what computer wise needs to be done?

The diesel one won't mount up different bell housing. You need the wiring harness, pedals, crankshaft sensor, different length driveshafts, and a few other things I'm in the process of doing this swap right now do a search there are a lot of threads about this. The computer will be alright but you'll have a cel for tranny codes

Ah, so no diesel trans will fit the housing. That kinda sucks but I guess that means they make a stick shift trans for the gas burners. On another note, my truck is a 2500 which can be diesel or gas. Does that even change the not fitting the bell housing problem?

No it doesn't change unless you also swap in the oil burner. If you have a 360 I'd go with a ldnv4500 basically bullet proof and will bolt right up to your v8
