help with installation

Default help with installation

ive got a 97 4x4 ram 1500 with 14 bolt 4 speed transmission i have an egine light on and a code of p0753 i beleive its the shift selenoid i need help on how to install it, or if i need to take it to the shop i need to get my caroline in healthy oreder, the light came on and doesnt seem to be anything wrong when i drive it please help and thanks for your time

First off search haha but go to the DIY section and its in there it's really detailed and has great pictures. Next time search first but here ya go its not to bad I had to do it. I think the sonax sure cure fix eliminates the faults with this I can't remember I'd check it out though

did not find a diy on replacing the thing all i seemed to find is the cleaning the governer switch
cant find it anywhere its why im asking now

Nothing wrong and drives fine you say? Try resetting the PCM .

Disconnect the battery, wait about 5 minutes, reconnect battery.

well what caused it to come on in the first place if its that simple to fix< or does that simply turn the engine light off? whats the problem

How is the fluid level? And how are you checking it? Go to the FAQ/DIY section and download FSM. Then search for Gove solenoid here...but you have to spell it correctly to get any good results.

typed in fsm did nothing
