Default Cheap Tune Up

Alright ,
I finally have a day off and I was thinking about doing some basic maintenance on my truck. I was thinking of pulling and cleaning the plugs (gonna check the gaps to). I already cleaned the IAC, will need to check all my fluids. Is there anything else I need to check for? Any small things I can do without spending money? I'm not due for an oil change yet and my brakes are good.

Also I was told that if you pull the positive battery cable off for a while it will reset you A/F ratio..... I did that yesterday since I replaced the muffler.

Thanks guys.

Always remove the neg cable first, never the pos.

Grease job, wash the windows, vac it out, check tire psi, rotate the tires, check all lights, wipers, washer fluid, winter road kit if you need one, white grease the door hinges, lube the door lock tumblers, dress/clean/lube all the door and window rubbers, check cross-joints.

Edit: In the upper left of the black bar you will see USER CP go there and please add all the info about your truck so we know what year, model you have.

Check the air filter, pull the dizzy cap and check for cracks, check pulg wires for good condition, clean bat posts, check trans fluid, check serp belt condition, adjust rear breaks...little beyond tune up but if you haven't done it good time to do so..

Alrighty

I vacuumed the entire truck, cleaned ny coldair intake, and cleaned the smog filter out. Also I pulled all of my platinum plugs (previous owner bought them) and re gaped them to .035 according to my hanes manual. I will check the dizzy later, and the serp belt has some wear but it can deff wait till next paycheck.

What kind of lube can I use for the rubber door seals? I cleaned the IAC and the Intake the best I could without pulling it.

Also I noticed that the previous owner had the transmission solenoid replaced at 176'000 in 2009, I purchased the truck a couple monthes ago and had to replace the solenoid at 184'000. Should I be worried? My thoughts are the truck sat for awhile considering it only had under 10'000 miles on it in the past 3 years.
