i have done the hemi swap. it was a 2005 5.7 with a 6.1 intake all stock but we used the full power train and it was alot easier. the semi easy part is building the motor mounts and you have to modify the tranny mount as well. but the really hard part is wiring. i swaped out the whole dash but you can splice the wires. doing the dash swap you will meed to cut into the fire wall though and modify that. it is a real pain in the *** to do the swap this is why i say you have to really want a hemi. like really want it. im presently working on a supercharged 2006 392ci hemi to put into my 97. 8k in and the engine is almost done. then comes tranny and t case. like i said, you really have to want it. easiest is to freshen up your 5.9. their pretty easy to build at a decient price. my present 5.9 is sitting at 434 bhp and I only spent 3k on it doing the machining myself. ive seen the lower end stock on the 5.9 hold close to 700hp. i wouldnt push it myself and rather upgrade. it just depends on what you want to do because the hemi swap is a very serious and aggravating process.

Should be what's in the Challenger SRT8, or at least one of the options.

I'd think you can stick a 6.1L Hemi and it's mate in a Dodge Ram, with whatever fabrication work is required. The hard part will be getting that beast to run!
