I have 94 Ram 1500 with a rusted out bed, and I have access to a 2005 bed for cheap that I would like to put on. Any ideas on if this would work or not?

why dont you just get under your trick and measure.... see where the hole are, measure them and if its close you should be able to just swap it out wiht no problems.... or, just get the new one and if it doesnt line up with the holes take some time and make some brackets for it...

 

i dont know but that could look sweet! get us a few pics if you do.

 

Not sure if that will work or not. I'm thinking the mounts are going to be in the incorrect places.

I know I've seen 2nd gen boxes on pre-94 trucks and they looked horrible. The lines were so far off. They'd be off on a 3rd gen to 2nd gen swap too as the 3rd gen trucks are wider. Just something to think about if looks are a factor.

 

Yesterday while driving through town I noticed a 2nd gen ram with a 3rd gen bed on it. It was a 3500 dually, so it can't be that hard to do. And at least we know that is it posible

 

If it's a long bed they're the same length. The short beds are 3 inches shorter in the 3rd Gens.
