Default Speedometer not working

the speedometer doesnt work in a 96 1500 4x4 im about to buy the guy said he replaced 2 of the vss one in the tranny and the other in the transfercase the tach still works any thoughts of what it could be then?

does the engine shift? my mom had the same problem in her 300. One day she turned the car on, the speed stopped working. when i looked at it the cars trans did not shift, it stays in second gear to protect itslef, the problem was the speed sensor output sensor..just a 20 dollar part that is simple unplug, unscrew, and screw the new one in.

yeah shifts fine im thinking its the speedometer itself might have to replace the cluster all together.

and you replaced tge transmission output speed sensor and rear differential sensor? other it can be is the harness came loose under your steering column. try those and let me know
