Is there any way to changed the front Us out without pulling the axle? I'm thinking not but thought somebody might have a trick up their sleeve.

 

No. For drivers side, you also have to pull the differential.

its not that bad fo a job with the right tools, as long as the bearings come out some what easy... pull the calipers, hub nut, unbolt/remove the bearing assembly and the shafts slide out

i found the best way to remove the joints is to just simply torch out the center then punch the caps out, other wise you risk bending/distorting the shafts with a press or beating on them, then clean up and reinstall, just be carefull not to damage the seals when installing the shafts, its also a good idea to make sure there isnt too much crud in the housing so you dont push it into the diff or cad
