I did the same thing. The PO's kids dumped gallons of soda in there. I found it easier to remove the lower cushions on both sides first to give me better access to the wiring and the mounting bolts.

4 10mm bolts for each cushion.

I pulled all of the seats out and then pulled the carpet to clean it out of the truck since that makes it much easier to get a full clean. However I don't have any power seat options to there was no wire harness. Shouldn't be too hard to find though and it does make it a lot easier to clean it really well if you get all the seat frames out of the way. My pull was to clean up from a hi brake light leak which soaked the carpet and also left surface rust on the seat frames so i pulled those off and repainted them while I had it all apart.

I can't speak for the others configurations, but my 97 regular cab with the 40/20/40 split bench comes out in three pieces. If I remember correctly the center shared one or two anchor points with the passenger side, but definitely 3 pieces. I had the carpet out for over a week while I dried and cleaned it and drove to work for a week with just the driver side in and no carpet while I checked repeatedly to be sure I had the leak fixed before I put it all back together. There was definitly more road noise which was why I decided to keep cleaning and not go rhino liner for the floor.
