Exclamation 2001 46RE Trans Rebuild/problems

I have a 2001 1500 4wd with the 46re. I know it needs a rebuild and bought the kit from Autozone. But I'm wondering if there might be something else that I might need to do. Before I pulled the trans, it would slip and not up shift unless done manualally, and when slowing down it would not kick down. Any advice would be great, I have rebuilt TH-350s and TH-400s before, but this will be the first trans i've done that has all that electrical junk on it. Please and Thank you.

No kickdown or normal downshift possible causes malfunction in valve body, TPS, PCM, throttle linkage..governor circut electrical fault..CEL on? If so what are the codes..adjust front & rear bands, also make sure throttle linkage isn't binding and check the gearshift linkage making sure it's functioning correctly..If you have a air compressor check what you can with it ie. front band

Personally I have never rebuilt a transmission, however I advise you to get your kit from somewhere else besides AutoZone... As far as electrical junk goes, the governer is electronic, and there are more solenoids, but the basic mechanics are pretty much the same as a non-electronic (the **RH trannys). But first check your TV cable, if it is out of adjustment it could cause it to feel like it is slipping, or it could have caused extra wear on the tranny if it wasn't properly adjusted eventually causing slipping. Any OBD2 codes?

Good news is that I have the advantage of talking to the original owner that I know put the truck through some hell (my brother). He told me about an issue with the wiring harness after he rebuilt it that places it to close to the exhaust and also a worn out or missing bushing in the shift linkage and a "check ball" on the vacuum line by the throttle body? that is broken. any ideas about this check valve?

I have actually bought the same brand kit for my TH-400 I rebuilt for my 77 chevy thats running a 454 on NOS and 40's and its been hanging in there with some extremely rough power being slammed through it (40's being 3" under the mud and pushed straight though with draining a 10 lbs bottle) wish I had that on video, slung mud on a truck that was about 50 yards away
