Question suggestions?

I have a few questions. I recently just installed jba shortie headers on my 5.9 gaser and was wondering should i be concerned about the cold weather now that they are on. Also i was planning on getting the plenum kit, dual exhaust, edge programmer and a cold air. Is there any specific order i should do this in? Do you guys have any other suggestions of what else to put on the old girl? Thanks!

ps i have around 3-5 grand at my disposal

Use an SCT programmer instead of an Edge. Cold air intakes don't do a whole lot for these trucks, the factory intake is pretty efficient. If you want to spend that kind of cash I would look at gears (4.10's if you're on stock sized tires), a cam/roller rockers/valves/springs and either a Mopar M1 intake manifold or Hughes Air gap. Maybe a shift kit for the trans. That would all make for a fun truck.

why is the sct most prefered among the dodge community, i have nothing agaisnt them but just curious. Also if i got a new intake manifold would i need the plenum repair kit, it really confuses the hell out of me haha. And I also support the idea of the 4.10 gears

Nope. The plenum plate is strictly for stock intake manifolds.

Sct programmers net the most gains, and are the platform upon which Hemifever (hemifevertuning.com) builds custom tunes for out trucks. If you mod the engine (real mods, not air filters and exhaust) he will build you a tune so that your computer runs the motor right for an extra $100. Also if you re-gear it swap in an eaton truetrac lsd (since I'm doing such a good job spending your money already )

I'm thinking this belongs in the general discussion section....if someone just asks for advise is that really a tech question?

Isn't every question a request for advice?
