Winter gas ping?

Winter gas ping?
Anybody had a problem with this? Truck runs fine all summer, in 100+* heat then starts pinging when we switch to winter gas.
What's up? I have fixed my plenum and I have 3923's, haven't replaced the cat yet but that should cause that much of a problem.
I really would rather not have to start putting 92 in it again, gas is $3.05 here...lol

Winter blend is heavily laden with butane, for one altered ingredient... Butane burns right readily, and evaporates easily too.. all in the name to pollute less.. go figure..
If you burn twice the petro to do the same function as you do without all the emissions crap, and the emissions crap only reduces 20% of pollutants, where is the gain? I can't wrap my brain around it.. winter blends because of drastically increased idling? Doesn't make sense either..
What does make sense, is there is a group of fat cats making a fortune off of this, and that fortune included participants making agreements in a smoke filled room and who have some legislative function signing off on it..
Crazy world we live in..
