Default Whats involved in replacing front axle u-joint.

Funny thing is I saw the post a few days ago about the guy who had the clicking thing going on. Then about a day after I read the post I had my window down and heard the same thing. I stopped and checked all tires for nails or rocks. Seeing none I went down the street and every now and then I hear a click coming from the left front tire area. When I cut the wheel to the right or left it stops for a few seconds and then returns. I jacked up the truck and shook the wheel and all of the u-joints seem tight with no real wear. I guess Im going to have to let it get worse so the problem is more obvious. If it is the wheel u-joint what is involved? The manual I have makes it look like a real pain in the a$$. Seems I have to remove alot of crap then turn the whole darn hub. I dont really like popping out lower ball joints and removing tie rods and sway bars. Is there a way to cheat the system? Any tricks or tips would be helpful. I kind of expected more u-joints to fail after I did the back drive shaft ones. Just didnt think it would be 2 months later.....
