I don't now how the rest of the states work but here in the Northeast DOT inspections only apply to commercial vehicles and to be honest if I was driving a pickup with commercial plates towing a camper I'd drive right by them... unless of course I was waved in. I do a lot of driving and have yet to see a camper in a weight station. Be sure you have a trailer brake, lights are working and don't drive like an animal.

A good transmission cooler, Brake Controller, and Overdrive OFF. Level land or not, these are three essentials. Especially with only 3.55's in there. These are the rules of the 46RE transmission and there are plenty of threads to confirm it.

Good tips! Also the pull-over thing with more than GVWR rating is only for commercial vehicles in *******ly all states.
