Cracking Dash on 1997 Dodge Ram 1500
Here's a link to TSBs. http://dodgeram.info/tsb/index.html
Your encouraged course of action, but unfortunately doubtful on a result, is to contact Dodge directly. http://www.dodge.com/webselfservice/dodge/index.jsp
You can search for replacements like UU mentioned. LMCTruck is not the only vendor. Some ppl have had luck in the junkyards too.
By the way, have you checked out the plenum gasket issue, which is a TSB worthy conundrum?

Quoted explicitly for you in clarity.

Well, if that's the case, then he needs to brush up on his grammar and sentence structure skills.
The way I figure it, if it were a safety issue a recall would have been issued. It was an engineering mistake, sure enough, but it's just cosmetic. Cosmetic defects are to be expected on old, used, high mileage vehicles. Manifestation of perhaps questionable engineering trade-offs are to be expected, too. These things just come with the territory and are nothing to bitch about.
Part of being a man in our technologically advanced culture is being responsible for fixing what breaks regardless of whether or not we really want to. It doesn't really matter whether or not Chrysler could have done a better job in the engineering and/or manufacturing -- from bumper to bumper, your truck is 100% your responsibility now. If something breaks, fix it or don't at your pleasure and accept what that decision says about your character.
Or jump up and down waving your arms in public, telling everyone you can force to listen that you honestly believe that Chrysler owes you a free repair of the cosmetic defects of your old, used, high mileage pickup truck. And accept what that decision says about your character.

Is there any avenue available for financial assistance on this issue? I should say upfront I have been a Dodge man for all my 60+ yrs. I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 I bought new with 150k miles. The dash has multiple holes in it and its getting to the point I fear I will start getting damage to the electrical system. Due to Chrysler's failure to properly address this dash damage issue with a recall, I would be very reluctant to buy another or recommend a Dodge to a friend. If anyone know any recourse please sent me a email.

A friend of mine at work just bought a 99 with a cracked dash, he was not sniveling since he knew about the problem from a previous Dodge, I did a search on ebay for a dash cover for him and came up with quite a few options so it sounds like many fixes out there and some not very expensive. My 96 just happens to have a cherry dash...so far.
I think the op has left the building. I have half a mind to just delete these join-post-disappear threads. The guy posted this same thing in another thread multiple times....then just...left.

There was another similar thing not so long ago, too. A guy showed up and posted a new topic about cracked dashes, recalls, recourse, and so on, and was not seen again. Maybe this is the same guy?
