Default Cracking Dash on 1997 Dodge Ram 1500

Is there any avenue available for financial assistance on this issue? I should say upfront I have been a Dodge man for all my 60+ yrs. I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 I bought new with 150k miles. The dash has multiple holes in it and its getting to the point I fear I will start getting damage to the electrical system. Due to Chrysler's failure to properly address this dash damage issue with a recall, I would be very reluctant to buy another or recommend a Dodge to a friend. If anyone know any recourse please sent me a email.

You disown the entire dodge lineup of vehicles because of cracked plastic dash on your 1997 Ram?? A 15 year old Ram? Mine had a broken dash too. I spent $30 and bought a carpeted dash pad to cover it up. Looks good as new.

A new dash from LMC Truck is less than $250 delivered to your door. Man up and deal with it.

^Yeah, that.

Everyone gets their panties in a wad. Should have known that when you bought it.

Here's a link to TSBs. http://dodgeram.info/tsb/index.html

Your encouraged course of action, but unfortunately doubtful on a result, is to contact Dodge directly. http://www.dodge.com/webselfservice/dodge/index.jsp

You can search for replacements like UU mentioned. LMCTruck is not the only vendor. Some ppl have had luck in the junkyards too.

By the way, have you checked out the plenum gasket issue, which is a TSB worthy conundrum?

He didn't write for understanding... and I'm shutting up now because I'm really sick to death of people wanting their old used pickup trucks fixed for free and would, if sitting across the table from one of them, say some things that would get me into trouble with the forum modder haters.
