Default Is this normal?

I have a 2001 Ram 1500 with 4.11's and 33's and when I put it in gear an let off the brakes it doesn't move like it should at idle, just sits still, or HARDLY moves. Is this normal or not? If not how can I fix it? Also is there anything in the t-case I can change to get a better crawl ratio?

Mine does it when it is cold. When the trans has had some fluid run through it it moves better. And i have 3.55's..

Mine sits there until I give it about 50% throttle when cold before it starts moving....

i think its normal.
torque converter slips until you rev up enough rpm for it to start pulling.
that rpm level varies a lot, based on tc stall speed and condition of tc.

my old worn out stock tc wouldn't move until 1500-1600 rpm.
my new tc starts moving at about 1200-1300.

Definitely agree. Stock TCs seem really loose to me

between the engine swap and the diesel/low stall TC the truck lunges in gear kinda hard now

It also idles itself right into 2nd gear and almost 3rd lol

Let it warm up longer.

You can get a tera low 4:1 kit. You can put 241 parts into the 231.

If it's at correct idle(650 about) The truck should move when put in gear , no matter how cold. 23 degrees here this morning and when I put my truck in gear I had to push the brake to keep it from rolling. And I even have the check valve deleted. I'd say you might want to adjust the forward band.

1st and reverse are same band. Download the 2001 service manual in this thread and read up on adjusting the bands. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...load-test.html
