Default Transmission slipping issues

Hey---i have a 97 dodge ram ss/t---200,000 miles, tranny has gave issues for a couple of years now as when i would first start up it would not want to shift and would rev way up in everygear before it did---didnt seem to do it after first morning crank up----i recently changed the fluid and filter and now it still does that some but has also started to just not go into gear???---i can be sitting in drive thru and it will be like its in neutral and then catch into gear, other day it did it while driving and just started rpms going up and down as if it was going into neutral and then back into gear several time before it quit and just went into gear----------just wondering if there may be a sensor or something simple that it could be or if it is about rebuild time????----thanks

+1, 200k it's all done. You can waste time and money screwing around with it. But I'd save the money for a rebuild.

Cost me $950 and they pulled it and put it back in. Came with a 2 yr 24k warranty too. So shop around. I priced st 6 shops anywhere from 900-1500.

But if I had the money I would much rather have spent it on a mega viper. Which are right around $2500

Well, it does vary....but knowing where you are may allow someone to give you some personal experience...Mine was about $600.
