Default how should my trucks shifts feel?

98 46re unknown miles truck it came from had 190xxx but trans has been rebuilt at some point.. it don't seem to slip..the shifts are almost unnoticeable at very light throttle and decently noticeable at part to full..reason I'm asking is bc I'm used to a built 4l80e with a shift kit in my Silverado.. and the dodge was down for like 2months and I can't recall how the other one shifted...oh wait..it didn't lol

My shifts are silky smooth but almost seems like random selection, or on random. Lol

I can feel mine but they're not excessively hard. They're pretty smooth, for the most part.......

Shifts should generally feel cheerful, but it's also normal for them to occasionally feel a little nervous.

Mine are nice and firm, that's after the Shift technologies kit installed.
